SPONSOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Sponsors are permitted to submits abstracts for consideration. Submissions from sponsors will be reviewed on the same basis as all delegate submissions by the scientific committee.

All abstracts must meet the criteria as specified below, as well as contain scientific findings that leads to improved patient outcomes and must not be product focused.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. Authors of research papers and ePosters who wish to have their abstracts considered for inclusion in the scientific programs at the 3SCTS 2025 must submit their abstract electronically via the website having regard of the closing date of Sunday 13 July 2025. Abstract submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
  2. The title should be brief and explicit and the abstract should be in past tense.
  3. Research papers should follow the format of Purpose, Methodology, Results, and Conclusion.
  4. It is a requirement for authors to:
    a) declare any conflict of interest, i.e. personal, professional or business affiliation relevant to the submission.
    b) obtain an institutional review board (IRB), also known as ethics committee, approval for all original researches.
    c) obtain patient consent for all studies involving human subjects, including case reports.
    Abstracts that do not meet the above mentioned requirements will NOT be accepted.
  5. Include authors(s) and indicate the presenting author. Please include full given first name and surname, institution/affiliation and state/city and country.
  6. Excluding title, authors and institute, the abstract must not exceed 3,600 characters and spaces (approximately 600 words). In Microsoft word, this count can be determined from the ‘Review’ menu. Any references must be included in this allowance. The excess text will NOT appear in the abstract submission or publication if you exceed this limit.
  7. Abbreviations should be used only in common terms. For uncommon terms, the abbreviation should be given in brackets after the first full use of the word.
  8. Presentations (slide and video) will only have electronic PowerPoint support. Audio visual instructions will be provided to all successful authors and presenters.
  9. A 50-word bio summary is required from presenting author to facilitate introduction by the session chairs.
  10. The timing of presentation and discussion of all successful submissions is at eh discretion of the scientific committee.
  11. Notification of the timing of presentations will appear in correspondence sent to all successful authors.
  12. Tables, diagrams, graphs, etc. CANNOT be accepted in the abstract submission. This is due to the limitations of the computer software program.
  13. Authors must be registrants at the Symposium for their abstract to appear in the relevant Symposium publication or on the website.
  14. Successful abstracts will be accepted for either verbal presentation or electronic poster display; please indicate if you do not wish to present your abstract in either of these forums.

Note: Subject to your approval on the abstract submission form, all successful submissions received by the specific closing date will be published in the relevant Symposium publication.

The submitting author of an abstract will ALWAYS receive email confirmation of receipt of the abstract into the submission site. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, it may mean the abstract has not been received. In this case, please email the ANZCA events team to determine why a confirmation email has not been received.

PRESENTATIONS

Successful authors will be required to provide an electronic PowerPoint presentation (the default screen format is 16:9 widescreen) either in advance via an online upload facility which will be available prior to the Symposium, or they may be submitted onsite at the speakers’ support centre.

It is essential that all speakers check in at the speakers’ support centre (even if you have uploaded your presentation in advance) no less than two sessions prior to your presentation, or the previous day if presenting in the first session of the day. Only PowerPoint presentations are accepted by default; any variations to this must be communicated to the ANZCA events team prior to the meeting date.

PATRICK PRITZWALD-STEGMANN CARDIOTHORACIC YOUNG ACHIEVERS AWARD

Application Deadline: Sunday 13 July 2025

This award is open to ANZSCTS Trainees only. To be considered for the award, ANZSCTS Trainees must submit an abstract for verbal presentation at the 3SCTS 2025 and request to be considered for the award at the time of abstract submission.

The applicant must be the first author of the abstract. Applicants selected by the Organising Committee for verbal presentation will be scheduled to present their paper in the Young Achievers Award session at the 3SCTS 2025.

ANZSCTS Trainees presenting in this session will be considered for the award. The recipient will be announced at the conclusion of the Symposium.

Only one such award is granted.

AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND COLLEGE OF PERFUSIONISTS AWARDS

Terumo Award
The Terumo Award is in recognition of the best scientific or clinical paper presented by a full ANZCP member at the 3SCTS 2025.

Sid Yarrow Award, sponsored by LivaNova
This is awarded to the student member of the College who has made the best presentation at the 3SCTS 2025.

Encouragement Award, sponsored by Medtronic
This is made for an especially commendable presentation at the 3SCTS 2025, to encourage the scientific development of Australasian Perfusionists.

ANZCP Meritorious Award
The ANZCP sponsored Meritorious Award is to acknowledge presentations of excellence and which are considered to be sufficiently meritorious.
